The battle is over, the war was long, you fought with everything you had, not realising that when the war was over, the journey was far from finished.
Despite giving it your all, the collateral damage is large. You find a sense of confusion and defeat because you thought when the war was over the hardest parts would have diminished.
But it didn't, and you are here. There is a sense of freedom and a sense of relief that the war itself has ceased, but the pieces you are left with feel far from resolved.
The aftermath that surrounds you is something you forgot to prepare for, because the fight to survive the war itself took precedence, and that in itself took you're allo.
Where to from here as you try to pick up the parts and put them back together to create something new and something that brings hope, and the desire to keep trying.
I know that it's thrown you off guard, and realising the length of path still to take is a little daunting, but see what you've already achieved? See the pieces of your life you continue to keep defying?
The aftermath is not for the faint-hearted. You are choosing not to just fight in the place that was necessary but also now choosing to rise and not stay in the after effects of the war.
You made it through, but for continued healing, happiness, peace, the path is still ahead. Fighting the war got you here, but you now have to pick yourself up and choose to move forward.
